The new grand opening...

After some deliberation, I've decided to create a food blog for the every man. Those of us that have a healthy appreciate of food and the wonderful flavors that can be had by us all. To be sure, I will dabble in the delicacies of those self-proclaimed foodies that follow Top Chef, watch the new Food TV Star, read Food and Wine magazine, and abhor the passing of Gourmet magazine. But, it is for real reviews and commentary on those who also enjoy Man versus Food and Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

Monday

Well. I'm starting to understand that blogging isn't as easy as I thought it would be. To make it interesting to me and the reader of my rather mundane life is a major chore.

Anyway, for breakfast, I had a breakfast taco of egg, sauage, cheese. It was ok but it's the closest thing to the office. Skyline Deli. Quick and easy but the place got old after the first time I ate there.

For lunch, I went for takeout a Les Gravel in Market Square. I got 2 Vietnamese chicken sandwiches. Tasty and very filling. Usually about one and a half will get the normal person full but for some reason, I was particularly hungry and ate both without a problem. Don't get me wrong, I can eat two with no problem but it may get unconfortable afterwards.

Dinner was the typical suburbia dinner--pizza. I got 2 from Papa Johns: one cheese and one with sausage. I didn't know this but on Monday's for carry out, they are $5.99 a piece. That's a deal although I did eat 6 slices. Oh well. My kids didn't want to eat sausage and vegetables (and neither did I) so NPC called me and asked that I get pizza. I guess after working out, pizza sounded a lot better than just about anything

Sunday

All in all, a pretty good day. I started by waking up in a fairly bad mood. The kids were not picking up and KLC was just running off and pretending to not know how to clean up. So, I decided that she wasn't going to a birthday party for one of her classmates today. She ended up cleaning so KSC would take her to the party. NPC has a play date with one of her friends so I got to do some cleaning...of the house and my head.

I made hamburgers from scratch for lunch. It was stove fried and I haven't had that for a long time. Typically I grill burgers but the grease content is just isn't there. I had a little white american and cheddar cheese. Topped in with some lettuce, mayo and ketchup. It was good. With a side a canned baked beans, it was a good meal for one.

For dinner, I broiled some chicken legs with seasoned salt, garlic powder, pepper and onion powder. It came out crispy and moist. It was very satisfying. The kids ate it as well. I had some left over baked beans and some homemade cheese mashed potatoes. I think I'll take the leftovers to work for lunch tomorrow...

Greetings

This is the first entry of my first blog. Some people have said that I should blog about food since I always talk about it on social networks. Truth be told, I am married with children so my life revolves around waking up, commuting to work, working, lunch, working, commuting home, eating, driving kids around, kid's homework, sleep. After looking at this routine, the most interesting thing that I do, day in and day out, is the food that I select and my thought process in what I stick in my mouth.

Don't get me wrong. This is the life that I have chosen and I am by and large happy with my life. I have a great wife and 2 wonderful kids. I have a good-paying and relatively secure job. I have my health.
